St George Utah

S t. George, Utah is nestled in a stunning valley surrounded by impressive red, sandstone cliffs. This spectacular oasis in the desert is in the southwest corner of Utah, just six miles from the Arizona State line on Interstate I-15. Washington County has seen over an 86 percent population increase in each of the last three decades. Even though many retirees find this area a retirement heaven, this unprecedented growth experienced in the county has not been limited to retirees. Young working families joined the migration to Utah to establish one of the most stable and reliable workforces in the nation. Nearby Brian Head is located at 9,600 feet above sea level and is the base for one of Utah's great family ski and snowboard resorts. The area is also excellent for snowmobiling. In the summer and fall the surrounding mountains and forests offer some of the finest mountain biking trails in America.

Red Cliff Mall offers a 306,000-sq foot enclosed, air-conditioned shopping environment with anchor stores J C Penney, Sears, and Dillard's plus 65 other national retail stores and restaurants. Zion Factory Stores and Promenade at Red Cliffs Mall are both located here and offer national favorites such as Polo/Ralph Lauren, Coach, Dress Barn, and many others. Some of their restaurants include Cafe Rio, Chili's, Red Lobster & and Outback Steakhouse. Ancestor Square is located in the St George Historic District in downtown St George where art/design shops, galleries and wonderful restaurants such as the Painted Pony Southwest Grill and the Pasta & Pizza Factory come together to create a signature St George shopping experience.

There are an impressive 30 schools within Washington County School District producing students with a high desire to learn. Building on earlier successes, high school students score well in national competitions and have nearly a 93% graduation rate. An astonishing 87% of high school graduates from the district plan to continue their education after high school. St. George also offers higher educational opportunities at Dixie State College where students can earn four-year bachelor degrees in business, computer and information systems, nursing and elementary education. Associate degree programs in the liberal arts, health, sciences, business, and computers are also available. For those pursuing career training, DSC offers vocational and technical courses in drafting and architecture, graphic design, automotive technologies and more. A top-ranked dental hygiene program is also offered.
